Senior Network Engineer (Palo Alto Networks)

About the role. We are hiring a Senior Network Security Engineer with strong Palo Alto Networks experience to keep production network running reliably and securely. This is a hands-on operations role: you own incidents from triage to documented resolution.

The kind of person we need. Someone who can operate on their own in a hands-off environment: nobody assigns your daily tasks. You triage, decide, act and document. Our team has built a strong reputation, and we hold a high bar: we want an engineer who can diagnose complex issues under pressure and make sound calls independently, and who will fit in with a small, experienced team.

Working conditions:

• Contract: initial 6-month contract with a review at the end. Extension is likely if the collaboration works well.
• Engagement: contractor agreement (self-employed, sole proprietor, or individual).
• Format: remote.
• Coverage hours: 1 AM – 9 AM Eastern Time (US).
• Schedule: full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day, plus on-call rotation.
• English: С1+

What you will do:

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security incidents in production.
• Own tickets end to end: triage, diagnose, resolve and document.
• Administer Palo Alto firewalls: policy, NAT, VPN, threat prevention.
• Perform root cause analysis and drive remediation.
• Support routing and switching operations (BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
• Take part in the on-call rotation.

Required:

• 5+ years of network engineering experience, mostly in operations or support.
• Hands-on Palo Alto firewall administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience working in a ticketing system (ServiceNow, Jira or similar).
• Strong diagnostic skills under production pressure.
• Proven ability to work independently in a hands-off environment.
• Clear written documentation and communication in English.

Nice to have: PCNSA or PCNSE certification.
