Windows & Azure Systems Administrator (Infrastructure Support)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Windows & Azure Systems Administrator to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will take ownership of day-to-day Windows administration, critical patch management, and user support layers. You will manage a hybrid environment (primarily Microsoft Azure with some on-premise VMware infrastructure) and collaborate closely with US-based leadership and global engineering teams.

This position requires high accountability, strict adherence to change control processes, and the flexibility to support scheduled maintenance windows outside of standard business hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Operations & Ticketing: Start the day by monitoring emergency channels and resolving IT support tickets in Jira. Maintain and update system documentation in Confluence.

• Patch Management: Execute strict patching schedules based on Microsoft "Patch Tuesday" cycles.

• Environment & Change Control: Strictly enforce change control policies. Ensure production changes have an approved Jira ticket (including explicit chat approval from leadership, description, implementation steps, and a rollback sequence). Coordinate non-prod reboots with offshore Dev/QA contractors via MS Teams.

• Incident Management: Participate in an on-call rotation using PagerDuty to handle P1/P2/P3 incidents. Adhere to a strict 15-minute SLA response time before escalation paths are triggered.

• Infrastructure & Identity Support: Manage Azure VMs, SQL instances, Firewalls, Application Gateways, Log Launchers, and basic AKS clusters. Support active directory domains and assist in domain consolidation efforts.

• AVD Management: Administer Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including both multi-user pools (terminal servers) and personal (one-to-one) AVDs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Core Tech Stack: Robust experience in Windows Server Administration and enterprise Patch Management.

• Cloud & Virtualization: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (VMs, Networking, AVD) and VMware infrastructure.

• Processes & Tools: Production-level experience with Jira, Confluence, and PagerDuty (or similar on-call alerting tools).

• Change Management: Disciplined approach to ITIL/Change Control processes (writing roll-back plans, seeking explicit approvals).

• Communication & Context: Strong English communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate across time zones (US) and coordinate with offshore teams.

Desirable (Nice-to-Have) Skills

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines and Terraform for VM deployment.

• Experience with Active Directory domain migration or deprecation.

• Basic understanding of Kubernetes/AKS.
