Software Quality Assurance Testing Engineer

Staffpick is looking for a Mid-Level Software QA Testing Engineer to join our client's team as a dedicated specialist, working remotely in the GMT+3 time zone.

Our client is a global medical device company with R&D based in Haifa, and a fast-growing Quality Assurance function supporting their expansion. They are commercializing TTFields therapy — an innovative treatment approach for aggressive cancers using alternating electric fields.

In this role, you'll act as the primary software quality assurance testing point of contact for medical device software development efforts, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. This is a full-time position reporting to the SW QA Testing Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test plans and manual test strategies for web, mobile, PC, and embedded software applications, with a strong focus on backend/API testing
• Execute and write manual test cases, including backend and integration testing for web applications
• Manage software bug tracking and perform bug trend analysis
• Maintain strong cross-departmental communication to support needs analysis, requirements gathering, and operational planning
• Support the SW QA testing team lead with assigned tasks and deliverables

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in a software QA role, with substantial hands-on experience testing backend/server-side components of web applications
• Hands-on background in software development
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience with non-functional testing
• Proficiency with API/backend testing tools (Postman, Newman, Bruno, or similar)
• Strong SQL proficiency for backend data validation
• Experience working within both Agile/Scrum and waterfall development processes, including regulatory implications
• Excellent documentation skills and experience operating under Document Control
• Skilled in managing traceability matrices between SDLC documents
• Fluent English (spoken and written)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within the GMT+3 time zone

Nice to Have

• Advanced degree or relevant QA/testing certifications
• Prior experience in medical device or regulated industry software (e.g., IEC 62304, FDA/ISO standards)
• Experience with API automation frameworks
